According to statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the export volume of medical masks to countries around the world increased sharply in the years when the whole world was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, specifically:
2020 is the peak year for medical mask exports, up to 1.37 billion masks/year (Average monthly 114 million pieces.)
In 2021, Vietnamese enterprises exported 453.15 million medical masks of all kinds. (Average of 37 million units per month.)
In 2022, preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs show that in January 2022, the whole country has 11 main enterprises participating in exporting medical masks of all kinds with a number of 22.2 million units, a decrease of 22.2 million units compared to previous years. But this is still a high number compared to the time when there hadn’t had epidemic yet.
The pandemic has changed many people’s living and self-care habits, including the habit of wearing medical masks when going to public places and crowded shopping centers.
According to the latest data from the United Nations in April 2022, the population of Vietnam is 98,819,221 people. Particularly, the supply of masks to the Vietnamese market according to the current user needs is huge and full of potential for mask manufacturers.
